Apptronik Raises $520M Series A Extension, Triples Valuation
Austin-based humanoid robotics startup Apptronik secures $520M at $5.5B valuation, bringing total Series A funding to $935M as it scales Apollo robot production.
Apptronik has raised $520 million in a Series A extension round at a $5.5 billion valuation, approximately triple its valuation from the initial Series A raise in February 2025. The Austin-based humanoid robotics company now has raised $935 million total in its Series A round as it works to commercialize its Apollo robots for factory and warehouse applications.
Investment Details
B Capital, chaired by Howard Morgan, co-led the deal with Google. The round included existing investors Mercedes-Benz Group AG and B Capital, along with new investors AT&T Ventures, John Deere & Co., and the Qatar Investment Authority. The strong investor backing reflects growing confidence in humanoid robotics as a viable solution for manufacturing and logistics automation.
The company's Apollo humanoids are currently being tested in real-world deployments with partners Mercedes-Benz and GXO Logistics, providing valuable operational data that has helped attract additional investment.
Expansion Plans
CEO Jeff Cardenas stated that Apptronik will use the funding to expand its Austin headquarters, open a new office in California, and scale production of its robots. The company aims to move from pilot programs to commercial deployment at scale, competing with other humanoid robotics companies including Tesla's Optimus project.
Humanoid Robotics Market Boom
Apptronik's funding comes amid explosive growth in venture capital investment in humanoid robotics, with VC funding for the sector increasing by approximately 300% in recent quarters. The convergence of advances in AI, computer vision, and actuator technology has made general-purpose humanoid robots increasingly viable for real-world applications.
