Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 21, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang urged European nations to embrace AI manufacturing, calling robotics a "once in a lifetime opportunity" for the continent.

Europe's AI Opportunity

Huang advised European countries to "get in early now" so they could fuse their manufacturing capabilities with AI infrastructure. He emphasized that this is the era for Europe to "leapfrog" the software era and build the physical infrastructure needed for AI advancement.

Jobs and Energy

Contrary to fears about AI eliminating jobs, Huang was optimistic about AI's impact on employment. He noted that AI would create more manual jobs, pointing to trade craft professions like plumbers and electricians seeing "quite a significant boom" with salaries nearly doubling.

However, he acknowledged that AI development requires more energy, more land power, and more trade skill workers—resources that will determine which regions can successfully scale AI infrastructure.

Industry Leadership

NVIDIA continues to dominate the AI chip market, and Huang's comments reflect the company's broader push into physical AI, including robotics and autonomous vehicles. The company recently launched new AI models at CES 2026 focused on enabling robots and vehicles to reason through complex real-world situations.
